THE WISDOM BEHIND THE STATEMENT "IT'S NIGERIA'S PROBLEM, I CANNOT KILL MYSELF"

There's this statement a lot of us make:

Nigeria is hard, don't kill yourself over the country. Just try as much as possible to blow and if there's any opportunity, leave the country.

We go further to say: Nigeria cannot be better so what's the use trying to make it better. Just be wise and make your money.

It all sounds nice and wise. Very wise.

Nobody wants to sacrifice his life to make anything better in the country.

Life is too short, let's all live it to the best for ourselves alone and then die.

Well, I wouldn't have an issue with that...

I only have an issue with the when we individually begin to complain when the implications of that mindset begins to hit us.

When you have a loved one sick and the health system is bad :

Nobody has time to fix it because it's Nigeria's problem and we all want to enjoy.

The nurses cannot kill themselves over a patient. it's Nigeria's problem, I cannot kill myself.

When the communication system is bad. There's no one to take it upon himself/herself to fix it. It's Nigeria's problem, I cannot kill myself.

The educational system is bad, we complained it was bad, it was the reason for our unemployment and underemployment before we found a way out.

But nobody should fix it, it's Nigeria's problem I cannot kill myself.

Nobody in the government is ready to put his whole life on his job to make things better. I cannot kill myself, it's Nigeria's problem.

Hahahahahaha

We are indeed wise. We are very wise for shifting the whole work on Nigeria since its her problem.

But why do you complain when a relative / friend of yours dies because of poor health system and service?

Oh oh you expect the nurse to put her life on her job?

Your relative is Nigeria's problem, she cannot kill herself.

Nobody wants to solve the educational problem.

But we'll all get sad when our kids return from NYSC and spend 5 years at home seeking a #50,000 job.

MTN, 9MOBILE, AIRTEL cannot kill themselves to satisfy us with better network.

Of course we are Nigeria's problem.

Even the government are saying the citizens are Nigeria's problem.

Well this small room called Nigeria is getting flooded and everyone is trying to jump out of the window to escape while some are using a bowl to fetch the water away to pour out.

What these two parties are doing to me is not wise. It's rather foolish.

You jump out forgetting that your mom, dad, and siblings are still in and that the water rising in the room would not stop.

And to those pouring out water (they are those struggling to succeed for themselves alone), it also doesn't stop the flood.

You cannot end it like that.

Why don't we all join hands to pull down the wall or look for the source of the water and block it.

If we all focus on it, wouldn't we all be safe. Would anybody die?

No!!!

But he we are... Complaining.

We all made the wise decisions right?

Let us all enjoy the fruit together.
