I'll tell you to pay attention to this and if you are just hearing this statement, maybe you haven't gone through the University. Perhaps you haven't been among university students or even graduates.

This statement flies on the lips of a lot of Nigerian youths who have gone through the University education and I want to unveil some truth behind the statement.

Firstly, when people say school is a scam, most times what they refer to as school is a scam is the University education. Most times, people do not really find fault with primary and secondary school education. They feel it's okay if we forgive the wrong done.

Really? Forgive the wrong done?

Okay, fine, I overreacted there but when we're talking about the wrong done and you say we should overlook the little mistakes the primary and secondary school education has caused, maybe you should divert for and follow the link below to read my post on the school system and what it caused.

Welcome back! Remember I have glued you to this post because I want to reveal the truth behind that statement.

If you have used that statement a lot of times among your peers or you tell younger ones, do you know exactly what made you to arrive at that conclusion? Yes you?

I'm talking to you... I mean the 100 persons who are reading this. So what made you arrive at such conclusion? Why do you write it on your whatsap status that school is scam or say it among your friends.

If you probably don't know the reason, then maybe you should have a rethink deeply to know why you are so bent in the argument that school is a scam.

I think I have some basic reasons why you lay hold to such claims. You might not be on my friend list and you're reading this probably, I feel should introduce myself so you'd know why I took my time to lie on the sofa by 7:30 am to write this post.

I am on the mission to revolutionize education in Africa. We have seen the disastrous impact our failing system is causing in the society. We have just few people trying to solve this, I am one of them.

Alright, back to where we stopped. There are a million and one reasons why people call school a scam and they belong to different categories which I will both list and state who is at fault.

1. Those who are unemployed after studying 4 or 5 years in school: These set of people are in different phases also but let me generalize. I believe majority of those who call school (university education) a scam is because they expected that by the time, they would be done with their university education, they would have knowledge that would make them relevant for the real world.

That's what they think right? But is it so? Do we have them qualified for the world of work based on the knowledge they got from school? I doubt that.

Now there are several factors around why they did not get the knowledge that is supposed to make them qualified for the world of work.

The first factor among others is...

(a). The curriculum is no longer relevant. On a large scale, it isn't. If we compare the good and the bad, I'm talking about the outcome, we would see that the bad is almost as twice as the good.

Now let me pause here to establish that these set of people feel betrayed getting to the real world and they are clueless. I mean, I paid school a certain amount of fees for four or five years, risked my life to travel down every semester, paid for accommodation for that number of years, paid for food, and other huge expenses.

Slept late at nights to read, fell sick because of the whole stress and all. Spent long hours in classes only to graduate after four or five years and the real world is telling me my knowledge is archaic, is too old.

They feel betrayed that they paid for a service that killed or ruined them. I remember I wrote an article on this. In the article I proposed an argument that who on earth would pay for a service that would kill them or ruin them? I was relating it to school. Read he article below..

Now, that's the first set of people who call school scam?

Does this mean that school is really a scam?

I will continue on this in the past 2. You can place my posts on notification so you'd be notified.

Tag friends, share on your wall. It's getting exciting.

to be continued...
