My 4am Ritual. Making Millions As a Founder and Everything You Should Know About Me

I am writing this a few minutes before 6 am. Technically, I woke up a few minutes before 4 am and I have been up since then.

A few weeks ago, I decided that I was going to do whatever it takes to make sure I have some millions of dollars in my account before 30 and this isn’t about money really. It is the fact that I discovered I needed to be more productive.

I am a founder and one thing I have discovered about Founders is that they have a routine they follow to the core one of which is the early morning ritual; waking up early, doing the most important tasks, doing some exercises, blocking out social media and then run through their day.

While this may sound really boring, it really looks like it is the best way to get things done even if you’re not a founder.

So, back to my story, I found RobDyreck through Sam Parrs podcast (you really do not need to know about them) and he spoke about waking up very early doing the most important tasks of his day which has helped him achieve so much in a little time.

This isn’t about being a founder, this is about me and perhaps you as well. I mean, we all suffer from lack of productivity because we get a lot of activities that steal our time during the day and I must drop a disclaimer that if you live in a crazy city like Lagos, what I am about to suggest might not work for you.

You return home pretty late and wake up very early just to get to work. Sounds like a really crazy life to live.

My Struggle

Over the past few months, I have struggled with so many things that could have led to the success of the projects I engage in.

1. I struggle with writing; I used to write great articles back in the days but one way or the other, I stopped because I believed time was always not enough

2. Focus and Speed; So, I wake up by 6 or 7 am, join my church online prayer, listen to some great music, run down to whatsapp and check if there’s anything worthy of paying attention to. Run down to all social media platforms and spend the next few hours pouring attention. No plans for the day.

3. Productivity: My work time is filled with so many distractions, loads of messages on Whatsapp, some new trend on Twitter to pay attention to, checking if my crush has posted on IG or if she’s online on Whatsapp and why she hasn’t replied my text.

Well, these things happen to most of us and I might be wrong, I mean if you are truly disciplined, you are a legend. Discipline requires serious consistency and focus and these things are pretty hard to put in place.

In a bid to change the narrative and set me on track, I decided to try out RobDyreck 4 am ritual. It’s been over a week and there have been some little improvements.

I wake up by 4 am, make an audit of my previous day's activities and plan out everything I need to do for the day. It’s pretty much easier because there is almost no distraction;

I keep myself in pace with learning. Just this morning, I spent 30 minutes reading a new book I picked up on the psychology of selling, then proceeded to watch a video on YouTube on How Sam Parr and Neville Medora made their first million through copywriting and now I am writing.

It feels so good to finally write an article for myself after over 6 months of abandoning writing or running away from it due to loads of excuses but I feel like I finally got my life back.

I jog around the estate by 6 am:

In a bid to stay healthy, I picked an exercise routine which is to jog around the estate for 30 minutes. I spend 99.99% of my life indoors and sometimes barely see what the sun out there is like so I needed to create a workout routine that will help keep my calories in check.

I use a productivity app (appblocker):

Found this app two weeks ago and although I have not been consistent with it, I found it pretty useful as it can block your access to apps within the timeframe you set on the app. This itself blocks out all form of noise and distraction.

This pretty much sounds like a productivity hack and it looks like it is not pieced together perfectly. Well, I just needed to get something written this morning in order to ensure I wrote down something nevertheless.

I believe you can relate to this struggle I experience and perhaps you might not be a founder, this 4 am ritual is very effective as it helps you achieve a whole lot before the start of the day.

Now, what exactly is with this my ambition to make millions of dollars before age 30?

Well, I cannot really call it ambition. I would rather say is foresight into the opportunity in the talent space within Africa and the money that would be made if there’s a solution provided.

Because of this, I started an education and media company to help young talents succeed in tech, Climbr. The past few months have been a roller coaster of emotions. On some days, a high spirit, on other days, doubts and fear.

However, it has been more of big wins than losses. I have a community where we just crossed 500 members and this is your chance to join us.

I will make this a daily routine to come up with a new piece of content and this time to make it more educational. I finally feel like I got my life back writing this. Although to me it looks like one of the worst writings I ever did but I’m pretty sure you loved it.

See you soon.

Founder, Climbr
